Access Assistant (On-Site)

Role Overview:

As an On-Site Access Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring accessible areas are set up and running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the setup of accessible areas, such as viewing platforms, check-in desks, and box offices.
  • Driving accessible buggies to transport customers as needed.
  • Putting up signage and ensuring clear navigation for customers with disabilities.
  • Checking customers in, verifying IDs, and wristbanding.
  • Supporting the Access Manager with any additional tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Physical ability to assist with setup tasks and operate buggies (not essential).
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience in event management or accessibility is a plus but not essential.

Access Assistant (Office Admin)

Role Overview:

This role focuses on the administrative side of accessibility operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing access applications and reviewing documentation.
  • Responding to customer emails and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assisting with the coordination of on-site access teams.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with accessibility policies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong written communication skills for email correspondence.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A passion for accessibility and inclusion.

Access Manager

Role Overview:

The Access Manager is a key leadership role, overseeing the access team and ensuring a seamless experience for disabled customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the access team and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Overseeing customer check-in and ensuring smooth operations in accessible areas.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for access partners, such as BSL interpreters and volunteer organisations like Oxfam.
  • Coordinating with event organisers to ensure accessibility requirements are met.
  • Resolving any issues or challenges that arise during events.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in team management, preferably in an events or accessibility context.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of accessibility requirements and best practices.

Security

Role Overview:

As part of our Security team, you’ll ensure the safety and security of all event attendees while maintaining a focus on accessibility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting wristband checks, bag searches, and security checks.
  • Helping to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally.
  • Providing assistance to disabled customers, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Working closely with the Access Manager and other teams to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • SIA license is an advantage, but not essential (we provide additional training).
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with an understanding of accessibility needs.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and work as part of a team.

AVP (Accessible Viewing Platform) Volunteers

Role Overview:

AVP Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of customers using accessible viewing platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing crowds on the accessible viewing platform.
  • Checking wristbands to ensure only authorized customers are admitted.
  • Ensuring fire lanes, turning points and emergency exits are kept clear and safe at all times.
  • Assisting customers with any questions or concerns.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A friendly and approachable attitude.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in busy environments.
  • Strong observational skills to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • No prior experience is necessary, but a passion for accessibility is a plus.
  • The ability to work in loud and crowded environments.
